Going out of your comfort zone also has the potential to create life changes in the direction you’d like to have for your career.Here are some tips for obtaining big success by getting out of your comfort zone.
Changes don’t need to be scary, in fact, they can be wonderful. Maybe look into making some changes with yourself first. This can include mental changes such as mental health like seeing a counselor or it can be something as simple as unplugging from electronics each day for a couple of hours. Alternatively, you can even look into physical changes to make to yourself such as beginning a fitness program to a change in your diet. Being open to even the small changes, including yourself is a good first step to getting out of your comfort zone.
Taking small steps can lead to things becoming more normalized, especially those that are outside of your comfort zone. This can even include your career too. One example would be to ask coworkers if they’re needing some assistance with some of their work. Other small steps within your work can include being a part of more meetings, attending events, and even requesting to be a part of a committee (such as event planning).
These can all feel great, and they let you be a part of your work and a part of the team.These small steps can even include something different outside of your job such as vlogging on youtube. It’s best to try to take small steps in your work life as well as your personal life.
Learning something new has its perks. Not only will this help change your perspective within your work and industry, but it can also let you discover an untapped talent that you may have. This new skill could be something that you could use for your job but it could even be something that you can use within your personal life as well. Just be sure that whatever course or workshop you’re taking is something that you’re going to enjoy.
One of the best ways to get out of your comfort zone to change your career is to learn to accept feedback. Feedback is something that doesn’t need to be terrifying. It’s something that’s meant to help you out so you can excel at what you’re doing. Take the plunge, ask for feedback, and fully embrace that it’s there to make you better. Whether it’s positive or negative, it’s there to help you become better.
