Want to Close Bigger Deals?

As a business owner, it is always important to save money where you can. After all, the more money you save in areas, the more you have to spend in others or to save and put towards your profits for the year. Running a business can be expensive and you can find that your costs add up quickly without you even realising, it is important that you sit down and find out the ways that you can get these down without impacting the way you operate or deliver your services to your customers. The last thing you want is to cut corners and end up losing business because of it. Here are some top ways to save costs in your business.

1. Take a look at your marketing plan

Marketing can be an area of your business that you pump a lot of money into. However, it is important that you check you are spending this in the right places and getting a return on investment. If you have a huge marketing budget but aren’t bringing in any sales from this, then it’s worth having a look at it. Find which areas are working well (PPC for example) and which aren’t (perhaps print ads?) and put money in the areas that are working and not in those that aren’t.

2. Use freelancers

Freelancers are a great option to use to save your company money. It could be that you need a new website populated with the content or a brochure created, which are both jobs that don’t require a whole new hire, but that you need doing. By hiring a freelancer you know the cost upfront and only pay for the job that you need doing. Once this job is done you won’t pay them any more.

3. Compare prices before you buy anything

No matter if you are looking for the price of stationary or an instant quote on freight shipping, it is a good idea to compare prices before you buy anything for your business. Don’t just rush in and pay because the price sounds good, look around and see if you can find it cheaper elsewhere. Chances are that you can find a better deal if you look hard enough.

4. Check-in with your existing suppliers to see if they can give you a discount

If you already work with suppliers such as for your internet or phones, why not give them a call and see if they can lower your price at all. It could be that they offer you a loyalty discount for being a long-term customer, or that you offer some of your services at a discount rate. No matter the reason, it is always worth an ask, you never know what they might say.

These are just a few ways that you can save costs in your business. It is important that you regularly evaluate where your money is going and how you can cut down what you are spending. What tips are you going to take on board?
